Cinemas around Peckham

Backyard Cinema

42 Newington Causeway, London SE1 6DR, UK – 020 3773 9075

The seats were incredible uncomfortable and squashed together. Felt like I couldn't move at all or I'd be disturbing the people next to me, and I was an inch away from cuddling with them. The playback froze and skipped and felt blurry for a while after this. Someone guides you to your seat, which means you don't get to choose (good in one way as it means first come first serve, but didn't provide us with choice). It was an uncomfortable and overpriced experience. The food and drink pricing was not too bad, however. Did get in touch with customer service about this and they were kind enough to offer tickets to an alternative screening. UPDATE: After attending the Mission To Mars I have increased the number of stars - it was so entertaining and immersive! It was very exciting to be there. I do recommend the bean bags over the couch seats, which are more expensive but less comfortable. You can really tell they put a lot of time and thought into the experience and it was very worth it. I'd compare to it a Secret Cinema style experience for a fraction of the price. The staff were also very welcoming and nice.

Very quirky cinema experience with a great theme and comfortable beanbag seats. If you are expecting a good audio visual experience them temper expectations as this isn't the point of the cinema. Also don't be surprised if there is a head blocking your view.

Odeon Cinema Surrey Quays

Surrey Quays Leisure Park, Redriff Road, London, Surrey Quays SE16 7LL, UK – 0333 014 4501

I have a limitless Odeon pass and this is my nearest cinema so have been here dozens of times. Generally not that busy and seats are fairly comfy. Easy to park here. I've read a few reviews criticising cleanliness but seems fine to me. Pizza Hut next door is also nice.

Went there to watch latest Avengers. Excellent location in the city. Could get tickets online when most theatres in London were houseful. The theatre is surrounded by nice restaurants like Frankie & Bennys and Pizza Hut though you would find a long queue on weekends. Tick prices in the theatre are cheaper than in the city. Free parking is available.

Kino Bermondsey

10 Bermondsey Square, London SE1 3UN, UK – 020 7357 6845

Great small cinema with only a few rows of seats. Not a bad view in the house. Very relaxed vibe. Can bring in alcohol or coffee whatever you fancy from the bar. Would come here more if i lived nearby. Worth the trek though to try a different cinema experinence & plenty nearby in terms of bars & cafes.

Our favourite little hidden cinema plays the best new movies and you never need to wait in line! We love this little place for its intimacy (only a few rows of seats and no seat has a bad view) and the ability to bring beers or wine into the theatre. The last time we were there, there was a bit of a smell in the theatre, maybe coming from the washroom, but hoping that's gone for next time. Cheers! We'll be back often.

Theatres for Peckham

The London Theatre

443 New Cross Rd, New Cross, London SE14 6TA, UK – 020 8694 1888

I took the weekend acting course two weeks ago and it was brilliant. I enjoyed every moment of it. Harry is a great teacher and we covered so much in a relatively short space of time. I feel much more comfortable on stage now and would recommend this course to anyone.

Breakwater Theatre Company made its London debut at this wonderfully quirky, fringe theatre in February 2017. The owner made us all feel welcome and could not have been more helpful in every regard. If you are looking for an inexpensive way to take work to our capital, look no further than hiring the London Theatre. We did and we will do so again in a heartbeat.

The Brockley Jack Studio Theatre

410 Brockley Rd, London SE4 2DH, UK – 0333 666 3366

Excellent beer selection behind the bar and a very comfortable feel to the place, I didn't get to try the food but next time I certainly will. The theatre section is smaller than I thought but still a good view of the stage and being half deaf even I was able to hear everything whilst sat close to the back

Weird production first we didn't enjoy. Love the theatre tho. Great pub downstairs so light and airy

Blue Elephant Theatre

59A Bethwin Rd, Camberwell, London SE5 0XT, UK – 020 7701 0100

Very nice place i took my nephew for drama class I love it would recommend it to parents and carers to take their children or children they babysit

It's a nice tiny theatre. The area is not great. There isn't much to do after the play. Some of the acting was good.
